Sometimes, I’m not in the mood to make an elaborate meal, so what do I do? Why make fresh bread, of course! I’m silly. Anyway, having a bread maker is pretty much the greatest thing ever…two hours after I decide I want fresh bread, I have it. This sandwich, aside from the bread, was made up of me staring at things in my fridge and trying out a new combination. It turned out amazing, so I wanted to share! The bread recipe comes from the recipe booklet that came with my bread maker, but I’ll share it also in case you want to try it out. As mentioned here, I have a Panasonic SD-YD250.
Herbed Bread:
(makes a medium size loaf)
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 tablespoons dry milk
3 tablespoons herbs (I use a Tuscan seasoning mix, but a mix of 2 T dill, 1 T onion flakes, and 1 t thyme would be good, too)
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/8 cup water
1/2 teaspoon yeast
Sandwich:
For the sandwich, I topped the still-warm bread with lemon curd, brie, and arugula from our CSA. I spread one slice of bread with about 1 tablespoon lemon curd, added about 4 thinly sliced pieces of brie, and a handful of arugula.
With the flavorful bread and the spicy arugula, the sweet lemon curd and creamy brie added a nice counterpoint. If I had it in the fridge, this was just screaming for some prosciutto! Mmm.
What is your favorite sandwich combination?

More colored pants!! Yay! Man, I’m going to beat this trend into the ground; I love it so much! Plus, let’s be honest, I’m not going to stop wearing my fabulous colored pants just because they aren’t trendy anymore. Making my legs look like crayons makes me smile, especially when I get said colored pants for 30% off of $35!
Are you on board with the colored pants trend? It’s an awfully fun place to be!

Lately, I’ve fallen into my boring summer routine of putting my hair in a ponytail. Every. Day. Boring. My hair is also at a sort of awkward in-between length (I’m in the process of growing it out) so I needed to find some new inspiration. I thought I’d share with you some of the looks I want to try! Click on the photos to go to the websites, each of which has a tutorial.
What are your favorite go-to hairstyles?

Top: J.Crew (similar)//Jeans: Gap//Flats: Gap//Necklace: Bridier Baubles
This outfit is one that looks put together but feels like pajamas (which is pretty much my favorite thing). These jeans (okay, jeggings) are so comfortable and these shoes feel more like slippers! The wide cap sleeved look of this blouse helps to balance out my wider hips and highlights my arms in a way that makes me feel pretty confident…always a plus.
I don’t often do the tone on tone thing, particularly with accessories, but I love the way this necklace plays off the shirt. This necklace from Bridier Baubles is one of my new favorites. It’s got the look of the ubiquitous bubble necklace but since it’s a bit smaller, it feels even more wearable to me.
Do you like to wear tonal outfits? If so, what colors do you like to use?
