Short and sweet today. Yet another floral and stripe combo. For some reason, I like my outfits to be as loud as possible when I wear these pants. Loud outfits to compete with my loud students (2 more weeks!!!!). I hope you all are going to have a fabulous weekend. It’s our final few days with the apartment so mine is going to be chock full of cleaning and moving. But then we’ll be done. And I can tackle this (eeks):

Recently, I was contacted by a great website, thredUP, about their newly opened women’s shop. For those of you who don’t know, thredUP is an online consignment shop that sells children’s and now women’s clothing, plus there is a great system for selling your clothes through them: a super convenient bag that comes in your package or that can be requested separately. I was excited to try them out and used my credit for two things: a cute Gap t-shirt dress that will be ubiquitous this summer and these J.Crew Pixie pants that are in excellent condition and were sold for a staggering $9! I really enjoyed the experience of shopping on thredUP and like that it combines the ease of online shopping with the cost-effectiveness of thrifting. Whoops, sorry friends. Unintentional blog vacation. Turns out that moving in May is seriously crazy (end of year craziness compounds nicely with moving craziness) and I currently am sitting amongst a sea of boxes taking a break from writing reports. So, no usual outfit post, but I did take care to Instagram all my outfits from last week (@shedabbles) so I thought I’d share those with you today. Hopefully it will settle down on this end soon. We have to be out of our old place after next weekend, so I’m anticipating another crazy week. Soon it will be June!

Tempted Tuesday

Okay, I’m so ready for beach season! Well, emotionally anyway. And thus, I’m searching for a new bathing suit to add to the floral one that’s already in the rotation. I like to be able to mix and match my tops and bottoms. Both the striped and polka dotted suits above would mix well with my floral suit, but I am also loving the wild card of the hot pink top…I would wear it with either bottom pictured above. What do you vote: stripes, polka dots, or wild card? And if you choose the wild card, which bottom would you pick? Help!

Rookie Mistake

Remember this maxi skirt that I made and loved? Well, no longer a maxi. Whoops! I thought I pre-washed this fabric when I first got it. Nope, based on the shrinkage, I guess I didn’t. Sad day. But I learned my lesson. I think I might try to make it a hi-low skirt instead. It’s a little stumpifying at this length.

I’m looking forward to getting settled into our new place. I’ve got a whole room for crafts and clothes! I have a bunch of clothes that I’m excited to make…patterns and fabrics are taunting me. I’m addicted.
